The Royal Mail has announced today (February 28th 2014) its postal rates from the end of March 2014.
We are pleased to advise that following the recent reduction in postal rates for books ordered through LEYTR there are no plans to increase our postal rates as a result of this latest Royal Mail increase.
We will continue to send out all books in a protective polythene or foil mailing envelope giving protection whilst in transit.
East Midlands Trains gets 'Gold' in Rail Business Awards for Customer Information and Service Excellence
There is never a good time to close the railway and undertake major engineering works, especially if that work means disruption over many weeks. But that is what East Midlands Trains (EMT) had to plan for last summer when major trackwork and resignalling, as well as station works took place at Nottingham station.
EMT did its planning over a long period and gave its customers advance information on the works and how it would affect train services. In a first for the rail industry it even reduced fares on routes affected.
With a dedicated website and Twitter feed customers were kept fully informed of how their journey would be affected, and regular briefings were also held for staff.
The result was that the majority of customers had a seamless journey experience, even though they had to use a rail replacement coach for part of the journey.
EMT's customer-focused approach meant that it was rewarded with the Customer Information and Service Excellence Award at the Rail Business Awards held in London on February 27th.
So well done to East Midlands Trains. Steven Knight Media is pleased for EMT as it is a well-deserved award, but is also pleased to have played its own part - it helped EMT produce a well-polished and strong awards entry.
Stagecoach has confirmed to Steven Knight Media that it plans to replace the coaches currently used on its' X5 next year.
Replacement of the 17 coaches used on the route which links Cambridge with Oxford via Bedford, Milton Keynes and Bedford had been expected this year following route trials with a number of vehicle types last year, but Andy Campbell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East told Steven Knight Media that "We have not yet mad a decision on future vehicle type but we are aiming to replace the existing vehicles in 2015."
His comments came just days after further trials had been carried out using a Megabus Interdeck vehicle. It is understood that there are issues to be resolved around Bicester and at Gloucester Green Bus Station in Oxford if longer vehicles are used.
