✤Stagecoach South West We are pleased to confirm that the Leyland PD2 open top vehicle 19993 is still in the fleet here and has been away from its normal home at Paignton. Repair work is currently underway on the vehicle at Paignton depot prior to it returning to service as an active member of the Stagecoach UK Bus Heritage Fleet.
✤Stagecoach East
Bedford-based Volvo B10M training bus 52437 was observed in Peterborough this morning. We understand that one of the Coasthopper-liveried Optare Solo SRs, believed to be 48032, was in Bedford last week for testing around various routes suggesting that there may be a plan to transfer to Bedford some of the type that will be displaced upon the closure of the King’s Lynn depot at the end of April. Bedford currently has eight Optare Solos on its core fleet strength with a further example in the Reserve Fleet there with 11 Optare Solo SRs currently at King’s Lynn. A further Enviro 400 from the Peterborough allocation repainted and returned to service without application of logos or branding is 10010, which joins 10012 and 10013 in the same condition. Now at Fenstanton are Volvo B8RLE/Wright Eclipse Urban 3 saloons 21311/12 for use on the Cambridge Busway. Their ‘67’ plate registrations were cancelled and they are now registered BV18YCA/B.
To recap the vehicles which have recently been reported on loan to Bedford are:
Trident/ALX400 17484 (from Cambridge where it was for disposal) ADL Enviro 400 19706 (from Reserve Fleet at Peterborough) Dart SLF 34534 (from the main fleet at Fenstanton) Dart SLF 34537 (from the main fleet at Fenstanton) Dart SLF 34882 (from main fleet at Peterborough) MAN/ALX300 22333 (from the main Fleet at Peterborough)
Optare Tempos and Optare Versas remain operational at King’s Lynn where yesterday Reserve Fleet Trident/ALX400 17787 was also observed in service, whilst some of the Coasthopper-liveried Enviro 200MMC fleet were working away from the coast with examples on town route 1, the 505 Spalding route and the 46 to March.
