News reaches us this morning that Stagecoach Yorkshire has received two MAN/ALX300 saloons on loan from Stagecoach Manchester. 22105 and 22129 have been transferred from Manchester's Sharston depot and are allocated to Holbrook depot for emergency Supertram replacement work in Sheffield after subsidence closed a section of the line near the railway station in the city centre.
Norfolk Green has advised the services, above its new Schools Contracts, that will be operated by its fleet of six Volvo Olympians until such time as the converted Transbus Tridents join the fleets. Experience during the first few days that the schools have been back suggest that far more services are being worked by the Olympians. New Old Buses! Read the announcement from Norfolk Green... As the new academic year starts this week, we will be very busy carrying more students than ever before to schools and colleges across Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. Additional low-floor vehicles are being prepared for service, but in the short term we have borrowed some older double deckers to make sure that all our passengers are carried. These older buses do not have step free access for which we apologise to passengers and would ask you to bear with us for the next few weeks until the full low-floor service is resumed. In addition to some school services the folllowing journeys will not operate low floor service. Please note that some other journeys may also be affected.
