It’s been a busy few days as we have received company confirmation of recent fleet changes.
Stagecoach North East has received three more new Enviro 300s for Stockton, 27166-8 (SN64OJR/S/T) are also the first of the batch to carry Stockton Zone branding (all carry the orange ‘Time Zone’ branding). At Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire MAN/ALX300 ‘Bike Buses’ 22121/41 have been placed into the Reserve fleet at Morecambe after their summer duties on service 800. Volvo Olympian 16670 has returned to service at Morecambe, whilst Volvo B10B 21007 is back in service at Kendal. Volvo B10M 20918 and MAN/ALX300 22104 have been sold. MAN/ALX300 22495 has been withdrawn from service at Morecambe and is for disposal. Due here are four Dennis Tridents, latterly in use in Scotland - 17127 and 17196/97/98. Stagecoach East has had a clear out of its ‘withdrawn’ stock with Volvo Olympians 16217/21/81, Open Top Volvo Olympians 16528/42/43/44 and Dart SLFs 33461 and 33806 sold to A H Hardwick. The only vehicles now awaiting disposal are Volvo Olympians 16224/25. There are suggestions that Stagecoach Midlands may be looking at putting Volvo Olympian 16684 back into service at Corby. Stagecoach Yorkshire has transferred MAN/ALX300 from Holbrook to Barnsley. Stagecoach South East has received ten new Scania/Enviro 400s - 15180/81/83/84 (YN64AKF/G/K/O) are in store at Eastbourne depot and 15182/85-89 are in store at Scania Lewes pending service launch. Volvo Olympian 16592, which was recently received from Stagecoach East, has been withdrawn and awaits disposal following discovery of chassis corrosion. An internal transfer is Dart SLF 33365 from Herne Bay to Eastbourne. Stagecoach South West has allocated Dart SLF 34399 to Torquay/Paignton ex Reserve Fleet. Fire damaged Scania/Enviro 400 has been ‘written off’ and is awaiting disposal. Stagecoach Manchester has returned DAF Spectras 13995/96 to service at Sharston. Stagecoach South has acquired Volvo Olympian 16865 from Stagecoach North Scotland for spares. Enviro 200 36024 has been re-registered from YEL4T to GX07HUK. Optare Solo 47245 is expected to transfer to Norfolk Green shortly. Ex London Trident 17425 is in store at Wigan pending single door conversion whilst four Dennis Tridents have been listed for disposal - 17448 is at Chesterfield and 17449, 17459/91 at Rennies (Welwood). Norfolk Green has put its Dennis Tridents 17786/87 into service. First is clebrating 100 years of the 144 Birmingham-Worcester and Great Malvern route with the painting of two buses in historic Midland Red liveries. Trident 33404 carries a 1930s-style lined livery carried on REDD and FEDD buses, whilst Enviro 300 67664 is in the simpler livery adopted by Midland Red in the years before the application of National Bus Company identity and poppy red livery.
